Well, it’s official, our bubble has burst for both boys which means summer holidays have begun already! I was feeling on the back foot a bit for activities and plans for the summer but then I got some exciting news!
Parents and carers looking for ways to keep their children entertained this summer should look no further than Active East Riding #SchoolsOut.
This year’s #SchoolsOut programme will be delivered online, packed with ideas and activities to help keep children of all abilities active during the six-week summer holidays. This means that even if we all experience a summer of on-off isolation pings, we won’t be without plenty of activities to occupy our little ones.
For parents and carers of children with a disability, there will also be a number of activities they too can take part in.
This year’s #SchoolsOut will feature:
- East Riding Leisure Centres
- East Riding Libraries and Museums
- Brick Wonders Lego exhibition at the Treasure House Beverley
- Sewerby Hall and Gardens
- Bridlington Spa
- Active Coast events
- Visit East Yorkshire
- East Riding Fostering
- Families Information Service Hub (FISH)
- Change 4 Life
- Countryside events
- Holiday Activities and Food (HAF)
Visit the Active East Riding #SchoolsOut website – https://bit.ly/3ehwYcm to find activities taking place near you and make bookings online. As well as following the Active East Riding Facebook page to keep up to date – http://www.facebook.com/ActiveEastRiding
This year, Active East Riding will be taking part in the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, which is being supported by Manchester United and England footballer Marcus Rashford.
The programme is designed to provide children and young people who receive free school meals free, fun activities across the summer holidays.
Again, the programme of events will be launched later this month but in order to keep up-to-date with when the activities are announced, people can sign up to receive a newsletter by going to https://www.activeeastriding.co.uk/holiday-activities-and-food/
