Something a bit different today. I know a lot of you have been thinking about setting up a blog recently or already have one on the go. You’ll by now be wondering about what to ask for Christmas to really propel your blog business into the new year. So here is a collection of things I own or have on my Christmas wish list.
I’d love some bluetooth headphones so I can listen to youtube videos and instastories on the go without disturbing anyone else. For some reason, rose gold is hugely popular with bloggers. See also marble and white. These headphones are from Curry’s but Aldi’s version this Christmas are only £16.99.
Slogan t-shirts are really popular with bloggers too and when I spotted this one I couldn’t help but smile. Blogging really can bring in enough money to quit your day job if that’s your cup of tea.
Following a home-based photo-shoot with a photographer for the Daily Mail, it really made me think about the quality of photos I’m taking. Especially in winter, it can be difficult to get the necessary light required for a decent pic of product and the children. In the new year I’ll only see the kids in an evening and weekend so even less time to photograph them! This kit would make my life so much easier!
I don’t actually own a laptop! This was a conscious decision when I started blogging. I bought an iMac so it felt like I was going out to work rather than being tempted to sit in front of the TV with my family and write whilst I should have been paying them attention. However, I feel the time has come where eI could do with that flexibility of working from other places. In particular I want to be able to edit my photos whilst we’re travelling in the New Year.
I have over 8k photos on my phone and you want to know how many of those I have printed off? Zero! I feel so bad, especially as nursery keep reminding me that I’ve not contributed a photo of us to their “family corner” so James must be the only one who doesn’t have his parents pointed out when he’s upset. Oh now I’m feeling REALLY bad!
However much I want to go paper free or completely digital, I still love the look and fee of a real notebook. Feel free to judge me! Anyway, it your’e going to have something functional, why not make it beautiful too. This personalised notebook is all kinds of gorgeous and would inspire me to keep better records for the tax man haha!
As above with the notebooks, functional items don’t have to be boring, the can be beautiful too and these pencils are just that. Plus they’re from Etsy so helping a small business and that always feels good.
I’ve had this book for a year now and love it. It’s a great read to dip in and out of for continuous tips and inspiration. My business has grown so much this year and this book has been a huge contributing factor.
Have you ever seen those gorgeous ethereal photos of everhead shots down onto two carefully manicured hands holding a steaming hot chocolate? Then wondered how on Earth that pic was taken unless it was by someone else hovering over the drinker? This arm to attach to your tripod or clamp to something is exactly what you need to create that kind of shot and I’d love to do more of this myself.
Essential for instastories and Facebook lives otherwise you wrist will hurt you for days afterwards!
I’ve only just discovered this genius bit of kit! By magic, this memory card somehow exports your photos from your DSLR straight to your phone so you can edit/upload on the go. Really hoping for one of these in my Christmas stocking!
To go with the photo printer above, Curry’s PC World have even got a bundle deal on when you buy it at the same time.
I hope you enjoyed my wish list? If there’s anything else you would add, I’d love to hear about it. Leave a comment below of what’s on your Christmas wish list.
