I have been tagged by the beautiful Naomi from Me Becoming Mum to take part in the 2016 End of Year Quiz blogger tag.
We’re a week into the year now, and I’m only just getting around to posting my tag – but my New Year never really kicks off until I’ve had my birthday anyway and that was yesterday so here we go…
What was your highlight of 2016?
My highlight has to be starting my blog and registering as self employed. I’m a creative person who thrives on autonomy and I’m loving the messages I get from people saying I’ve helped them save x amount of money or made so much starting matched betting. It really makes the effort of blogging feel worth it!
Name one thing you are likely to remember about 2016 if asked in five years time?
It would have to be the fact that NotSoThriftyDad was the one who got to tell me that we were expecting! I peed on the test stick and passed it through the door to him so I could carry on at the toilet and he shouted through that I was pregnant. I’m pretty sure I knew anyway but its a nice story to tell the boys once they’re older.
Sum up 2016 in one word.
Family (new on the way and others sadly parted).
Name one pearl of wisdom from 2016 that you will carry through 2017.
Start before you’re ready – perfectionism is over-rated especially if its stopping you from beginning what you’re meant to be doing.
Do you have any new year resolutions?
I have New Year financial goals which you can read about here but other than that, I want to focus more on self care and personal development.
How did you see in the new year?
Bump and I went to bed early but I was woken up by the fireworks. ThriftyBaby slept through it all but then he was born during a firework display so he’s chill about loud noises anyway!
What would you most like to do in 2017?
We plan on taking a family holiday with both the boys this year at some point, I’m due to have some major surgery which will probably be during the summer and I will be continuing to enjoy Hull being the City of Culture for 2017!
What are your main goals for 2017?
- Lose my baby weight in time for the surgery.
- Take comping more seriously.
- Stick to a grocery budget.
- Attend a blogging conference (booked this one already!)
- Develop the blog further.
- Oh and have another happy healthy little boy!
